RUDGE MODEL SPECIFICATION

WHEELS

WM1x19 (f), WM1x19 (r). with identical hubs and chrome plated rims. Bolt on rear sprocket.

MUDGUARDS

Plain inverted U section 5.5” wide, unvalanced front and rear. Rear, two piece with detachable tail section. Tail section supported by wire stays.

TANKS

Petrol/oil tank Chromium plated with lined black panels. Twin Westwood type fillers (oil & petrol) with front fitted petrol balance pipe. Single bolt damper arm fixing but no damper fitted.

ENGINE

4 valve 249cc with cast iron open valve radial cylinder head, bolted to the barrel from below. 18mm central plug. Oil feed to rear of cylinder. Miller coil, Lucas Maglita or magneto ignition.

BRAKE

Both 6 3/4", coupled with steel shoes.

ELECTRICS (OPTIONAL)

Miller 7” headlamp with No 832 8-0-8 'Lighthouse' ammeter and 29E rear lamp. (where fitted). Round ML magneto without lights.

TRANSMISSION

4 speed gearbox with hand change on RHS of tank. Pressed steel primary cover with single inspection hole.

CARBURETTER

Horizontal Amal type 5/151 with Amal straight pull control.

EXHAUST SYSTEM

Twin 1 3/8” low level pipes into Rudge ‘can’ type silencers and 5” fishtails.

STANDARD FITTINGS

1” non adjustable handlebars with folded type inverted levers. Single toolbox mounted opposite battery carrier. No steering damper or fork shock absorber fitted. Pressed steel central stand. Open ended ‘D’ section forks.

EXTRAS

Black & gold finish, chrome plated petrol tank with maroon panels with black guards. Black with maroon guards & tank panels. Smith’s trip/non trip speedometer, Smith’s 8 day clock in damper arm, Bonniksen speedometer, legshields, pillion footrests, electric horn, Lucas No 63 bulb horn, competition exhaust pipes.
